Next Class

Sept. 17, 2016.

Boating is fun... we'll show you how.

Step 1
Local Knowledge is our 2nd step. Now that you have learned safe boating fundamentals from our ABC class, you will learn about boating on our local lakes and waterways. The Savannah River System has 5 lakes in the Upstate. These lakes are Jocassee, Keowee, Hartwell, Russell and Thurmond.
We will talk about popular destinations, coves, problem areas, marinas and explore local nautical charts. We will address what you need to know about boating in the Upstate.
On The Water, is our 3rd step.  Where better to learn about boating than on the water?  This exercise will tie together our classroom studies to an actual boating experience.  We will go out on Lake Hartwell and see how the aids to navigation, rules of the road, communications afloat and other class room topics are part of your safe boating training. You will participate in a pre-departure safety briefing and observe what safe boating practices are about.  You will learn how to leave and return to the dock, and how to place and retrieve an anchor. We will demonstrate GPS, Chartplotters and depth sounders and participate in communication afloat using VHF radios.
Step 3
America’s Boating Course is our 8-hour certification class. Approved by the National Association of State Boating Law Administrator (NASBLA),and recognized by the USCG,  Upon successful completion you will receive your boating certificate. We present the entire class in one day (9:30 AM to 5:30 PM) for your convenience.  America’s Boating Course is the preeminent course covering all the fundamentals of an approved safe boating class.
Enrollment Fee $50 (an additional $10 for each family member sharing the same book)
Step 2

We believe that learning to boat safely starts in the classroom with boating fundamentals but must continue with specific information about our complex and challenging local environment and finally conclude with an on-the-water practical exercise that ties everything together. Our exclusive 3 step program provides you with the skills and knowledge to become a safe and responsible boater. Our instructors are all local experienced and certified. Learn from the very best that....
